Private and Corporate Customer Accounts
1. Private Customer Account
General Information
- Private Customer Accounts are generally subject to statutory value-added tax.
- A Private Customer Account is always assigned to one individual and cannot be linked to other user accounts.
- A Private Customer Account is intended exclusively for personal use. Data such as licenses, Automation Server tenants, or support packages cannot be shared with other users.
- A Private Customer Account cannot subsequently be converted into a Corporate Customer Account.
- However, an existing Private Customer Account can be added to an existing Corporate Customer Account. To do so, please contact the relevant Corporate Administrator.
2. Corporate Customer Account
General Information
- Corporate customers from an EU country or a third country can apply for tax exemption. To do so, enter the relevant VAT ID or tax ID during registration, or provide a valid tax exemption certificate.
- Each Corporate Customer Account is assigned exactly one registered office and billing address. All users within the company use the same billing address, which is taken centrally from the company details.
- Individual corporate users can enter a different delivery address in their customer account, provided that the delivery address is in the same country as the company's registered office.
- Different roles and permissions can be assigned within a Corporate Customer Account.
- Permissions can be used, for example, to define whether data such as licenses, Automation Server tenants, or support packages may be shared with other corporate users.
- Corporate users can be temporarily deactivated, for example during a sabbatical, maternity leave, or parental leave.
- If the Corporate Administrator or another person within the company has been approved for payment by invoice, this approval automatically applies to all other users within the company.
- If the company's address or legal name changes, the information only needs to be updated once centrally. Each corporate user does not need to update the information separately.
2.1 Roles and Permissions
By default, three roles are available in your Corporate Customer Account:
- Administrator
- Purchaser
- Employee
You can create and assign as many additional roles as required.
Each Corporate Customer Account has exactly one Corporate Administrator. This is generally the person who originally created the company in the CODESYS Store. The Corporate Administrator has the same permissions as an Administrator. All other roles can be assigned to multiple corporate users.
Under “Roles and Permissions” in the customer account, you can:
- create new roles
- change the permissions of existing roles
- assign roles to individual corporate users
- change roles that have already been assigned
2.2 Adding Corporate Users
You must have the “Edit Corporate Users” permission to perform this action.
- Log in to your customer account.
- Click “Customer Account”.
- Select “Corporate Users”.
- Click “Add New Corporate User”.
-
Enter the required information:
- If the person already has a Private Customer Account in the CODESYS Store, only the email address and the required role need to be entered.
- If the person does not yet have a customer account in the CODESYS Store, complete all required fields.
- Click “Save”.
-
Depending on the initial situation, one final confirmation step is required:
- For an existing Private Customer Account, the new corporate user must accept the invitation to join the company.
- For a newly created account, the new corporate user must set a password. Setting the password also confirms the invitation to join the company.
2.3 Deactivating or Removing Corporate Users
To temporarily deactivate an existing corporate user or remove the corporate user completely from your company, proceed as follows:
- Log in to your customer account.
- Click “Customer Account”.
- Select “Corporate Users”.
- Open the “Actions” menu for the relevant corporate user.
-
Select one of the following options:
- “Edit”: Temporarily set the corporate user to inactive, for example during maternity leave, parental leave, or a sabbatical. Inactive corporate users retain access to existing data such as previous orders, licenses, and subscriptions.
- “Remove from Company”: Completely remove the corporate user from the Corporate Customer Account. The removed person will no longer have access to the company's data.
